“A man’s ability to think critically is a platform for unhindered solution’s to problems”
“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you are right” — HENRY FORD
What is thinking???
It is a process of considering or reasoning about something or someone. Merriam Webster defines thinking as the action of using one’s mind to produce thoughts.
Thinking is the cognitive activities you use to process information, solve problems, make decisions and create new ideas. You use your thinking skills when you try to make sense of experience, organise information, make connections, ask questions, make plans or decide what to do.
There are several different types of thinking or ways to think.
Holistic (non-linear) thinking.
Our manner of reasoning and thinking really matters in decision making of our lives.
3 THINKING SYLLABUS
1. Learning and getting more knowledge
“Think before you speak. Read before you think” — FRAN LEBOWITZ. There is a connection between the mouth and the brain that is a process.
It takes a series of seconds for words to flow out of the mouth when struck with a question. It starts from the thinking organs (Brain × Mind).
If the brain is empty, the mouth will be speechless or it’s start saying nonsense. There’s a popular Yoruba adage that says “It’s what the eagle eats that it takes off with”.
This adage has an extensive role to play in the life of every Visionary. The wise men, great men of God, professors and other mighty and great speakers are products of what that have taken into their brain from the past.
Thinking requires reading and learning more. Learning is not limited to reading. They are many learning processes that more knowledge can be acquired. A knowledgeable man will be outstanding and be able to change the world drastically.
2. Give time for meditation and thinking.
” The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking”.
—- ALBERT EINSTEIN.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 established the fact that there’s time and season to every purpose under the heaven. In our everyday schedule, there should be a time for meditation and thinking.
They are process in proffering and creating solutions to problems and challenges. Create time to brainstorm, ponder, deliberate, contemplate, reason, evaluate and as well meditate.
3. Keep the right company
There’s a popular saying that says “Bad company corrupts good manners.” Man’s influence towards one another is very vigorous either positive or negative (Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are).
The company of people that you walk with will determine how far you can go in life. In reference to the first syllabus stated here, the process of speaking is a process that starts with two organs (Brain × Mind).
The mind is a very corruptible organ that can easily be influenced and corrupted positively or negatively. The kind of people you walk with determine how far you go in life.
If the mind is corrupted, the brain will malfunction no matter it’s content. Keep the right company and flock with the right set of people. Be a focused Visionary.
“Reading furnishes the mind only with materials of knowledge, it is thinking that makes what we read ours”.
