149 returnees from Niger Republic have been received by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Lagos Territorial Office.
The returnees, which comprised 87 Adult male, 25 adult female , 22 children and 15 infant, were reported to have arrived the country via Murtala Muhammad International Airport on Tuesday.
This was revealed via a post on the NEMA’s X handle on Wednesday, August 14.
The post reads: “The NEMA Lagos Territorial Office LTO officers along with other stakeholders received 149 returnees from Niger Republic on Tuesday 13th August, 2024.
“The return was facilitated by IOM Mission in Niger Republic. The returnees arrived the country via Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Cargo Terminal aboard SkyMali Boeing 737-500 airline with registration UR-COX.
“The charter flight had a total of 149 returnees which comprised; 87 Adult male, 25 adult female , 22 children and 15 infant. Meanwhile, there are two medical cases involved; two adult males with leg injuries. Port health and IOM medical teams were on ground to provide support.”
