The officers who were accused of extorting the sum of N20,000 from a man in Akure, the Ondo state capital have been identified.
This was confirmed by the Ondo State Police Command.
The victim, Temi (@_iamTipTop) in a deleted X post on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, said he was on his way to donate inhalers to asthmatic students at the Federal University of Technology Akure when the police officers extorted the money from him with threats.
Reacting to the allegation, the command said the operatives involved in the unprofessional act have been identified.
“The command has identified Officers involved in the unprofessional act against @_iamTipTop while on transit in the state. Disciplinary action has commenced,” the statement read.
