A 28-year-old man, Hammed Waheed, has been arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court, Ibada, on Thursday over the alleged theft of 200 bags of cement.
Waheed of no fixed residential address is charged with conspiracy and theft.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, informed the court that Waheed and others, at large, committed the offense on February 21, at 11:30 am, at Oke-Ado area, Ibadan.
The police alleged that Waheed stole the bags of cement belonging to one Tunrayo Adeogun.
He said the offense violated the provisions of Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N300,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum and then adjourned the case until March 20 for hearing.
