Today, Friday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Black Stars of Ghana will reignite their rivalry as they clash in an international friendly match.

It is the first time either country will be involved in a match since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Super Eagles fell to hosts Ivory Coast in the final, while the Black Stars were eliminated in the group stage, prompting the dismissal of manager Chris Hughton, who has been replaced on an interim basis by Otto Addo.

The most recent clash between the two teams was in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Ghana edged Nigeria to the qualification ticket after a 1-1 aggregate scoreline over two legs.
