The Osun State Police Command on Sunday said its men, with the support of native security outfits, foiled an try by some suspected Fulani bandits to rob motorists alongside Ilesha/Akure expressway.
In a video obtained by The PUNCH, posted on the social media by a supporter of Yoruba nation, who claimed to have arrived on the scene of the assault few minutes after the assailants struck on Saturday, claimed that seven folks had been kidnapped by the suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The person mentioned the incident occurred alongside Ilesha/Akure expressway shortly after Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly generally known as Sunday Igboho, handed the street whereas coming back from Akure after his group had held a rally to demand for an impartial Yoruba nation.
Reacting to enquiries on the incident in an announcement, the state Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, mentioned nobody was kidnapped, although try was made by some suspected Fulani bandits.
