A popular public affairs analyst, Daniel Bwala, has announced that he has departed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and is close to joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Bwala made the declaration on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Thursday. When asked about his party affiliation, he stated, “I am not a member of the PDP. Yes, I have left the PDP.” He further revealed that he is “very close” to joining the APC. It should be recalled that Bwala is a former spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar campaign organization. However, Bwala has been a vocal supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s policies since the 2023 election. In January, he visited the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he expressed his support for the government and encouraged Nigerians to do the same. Bwala defended his actions, stating that he informed Atiku Abubakar of his visit to the President and received a cordial response. He dismissed speculation that he was seeking an appointment.
