There was a fire outbreak at a popular textile market in Kano, widely recognized as Kantin Kwari, at midnight on Sunday.
The fire incident resulted in the destruction of approximately ten shops within one of the market’s malls.
Reports revealed that the fire originated in a Gidan Inuwa Mai Bayajidda Street structure, which houses over a hundred shops, incinerating all textile merchandise in the affected ten shops and causing damages estimated in millions of naira.
Channels Television quoted eyewitnesses as having reported that they made considerable efforts to control the fire and rescue some items before the arrival of the fire service.
