Mr Kanu Agabi, a former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, AGF, has been engaged to lead defence team in the trial of Nnamdi Kanu for terrorism charges brought against him by the federal government.
Agabi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is expected to lead Aloy Ejimakor who has been holding forth for the Biafra nation agitator.
It was gathered that the latest decision to engage Agabi was arrived at because of his persuasive approach in criminal matters.
The former AGF led the defence of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki when the federal government filed criminal charges against him on alleged false declaration of assets.
At the time of this report, the federal government’s legal team being led by Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN, has arrived in court with a retinue of other lawyers.
Also, the defendant is being awaited to be brought to court by the Department of State Services, DSS.
Kanu is expected to be arraigned afresh today, Friday, at the federal high court on terrorism charges.
