An endangered leatherback sea turtle has been released back into the ocean at Opu-Okumbiri in Akassa Clan, Bayelsa State.
The turtle measuring over 5ft in length was caught in a fisherman’s net and he informed team members of the Safe Earth Foundation who swung into action.
It is believed that there are less than 40,000 leatherback sea turtle left in the world.
