The spokesperson of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Oyewale said that the suspects, Musa Gideon, Abdul Adamu, and Justine Musa were arrested along Yakubu Gowon way, Kaduna on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, while trying to sell new naira notes to an EFCC undercover operative.
The statement explained, “The operation yielded the arrest of the three suspects selling new and old naira notes to the tune of N1,307,400 and many Automated Teller Machine cards.”
It said that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
Oyewale said that the EFCC has raised a Special Task Force in all its Zonal Commands for the enforcement of extant laws against currency mutilation and dollarization of the economy.
The statement explained that the Task Force, inaugurated by the Executive Chairman of the commission, Ola Olukoyede, was raised to protect the economy from abuses, leakages and distortions.
It said that the commission is committed to the enforcement of all laws in place for the stimulation of the economy.
