DSP Bright Edafe, spokesperson of the Delta Police Command has reacted to the protest staged by aggrieved youths against alleged police brutality and extortion in Ughelli.
Explaining the reasons behind the ongoing protest, the PPRO, in a statement posted on his X account said policemen from the Ughelli Area Command had on February 13, 2024, intercepted an unregistered Benz GLK without a plate number in the Ekuigbo community.
The occupants of the vehicle, four boys, could not establish ownership of the car.
In an attempt to arrest the boys, some youths attacked the policemen, destroyed their vehicle, and broke the head of one of the officers.
