On Friday, March 8, the Nigerian Army Women Command marked International Women’s Day by paying a visit to the students of Government Girls Secondary School Dukpa in Gwagwalada, FCT.
During the visit, they presented gifts to the young women in the school in commemoration of the day.
The Army disclosed this in a statement on its X handle on Friday.
Part of the statement reads: “The Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC) celebrated the #InternationalWomensDay today 8 March 2024 by visiting students of Government Girls Secondary School Dukpa in Gwagwalada, FCT to inspire them. The Commander Nigerian Army Women Command Brigadier General MI Amatso on behalf of the Command presented gifts to the young women in commemoration of the #IWD.
“In his remarks, Brig Gen Amatso encouraged the female students to emulate good leaders in order to become who they aspire to be in the future. He urged the students to take their studies seriously by paying more attention to their books and adhering to instructions given by the school authority.
“Gen Amatso further appreciated the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen TA Lagbaja for his immense support in providing the necessary resources for Nigerian Army Women’s Command to celebrate International Women’s Day with a selected school.”
