A group of women in Edo state trooped out en masse to stage a peaceful demonstration, seeking a peaceful governorship election, scheduled for September 21.
The demonstrators, seen holding up placards with messages promoting peace, gathered to voice their concerns over the potential for unrest during the election period.
The women, representing different communities across the state, urged political parties and their supporters to maintain peace throughout the electoral process.
Some of the placards carried messages such as “No to Election Violence” and “Edo women for peace,” emphasizing the importance of a free and fair election devoid of intimidation or violence.
