A Nigerian model narrowly escaped death on Thursday, August 29, after the ceiling of her house collapsed while she was celebrating her birthday.

A terrified Vanora stated that she had just received her birthday cake when the ceiling came crumbling down.

She stated that she was incredibly lucky to be alive as she was capturing a video when the unfortunate incident happened.

Vanora said that she wants to file a lawsuit against the landlord because she feels trapped, powerless, and scared for her life.

She wrote;

‘’My heart is shattered. Nigeria has failed me in ways I never imagined.

On my birthday, I narrowly escaped death, all because of the substandard materials used to build this house.

I’m incredibly lucky to be alive.

I was lying on my couch when my birthday cake was delivered. I stood up to take a quick video, capturing what I thought would be a happy moment. But within a split second, everything changed. A loud noise filled the room—it felt like the entire building was collapsing. I looked up and saw everything crashing down. My cake was ruined, but there was no time to save it. I ran for my life.

My properties destroyed in the process. Everything is damaged

The thought of what could have happened still haunts me. If I had been sleeping, I wouldn’t have had a chance. The collapse happened so quickly, and with my knee still recovering from surgery, running was already difficult. I could have been dead. But God saved me.

Despite my survival, I’m still deeply traumatized. I’m living in a house that could collapse at any moment, and I’m terrified. This isn’t the first time either—this is the eighth apartment in this compound to crash like this. People’s lives are endangered every day, and it needs to stop.

I want to take legal action, but I don’t have a lawyer. I feel trapped, powerless, and scared for my life. This situation is more than just unfair—it’s dangerous, and it can’t continue.

I’m so traumatized”
