The identities of the 20 medical and dental students, along with a House Officer, who were kidnapped by gunmen in Benue State have been revealed.

Their identities were made known by an X user SportsDokita (Odogwu) @Sports_Doctor2.

Daily Post reported that the students were en route to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) annual convention in Enugu.

The students, said to be from the University of Maiduguri and University of Jos, were travelling together when they were ambushed by gunmen around 5:30pm in the Otukpo area of the state.

The State police command which confirmed the incident, said investigation it had launched investigation into the abduction.
