A female trader, Mrs Gladys Ibrahim, reportedly slumped on Thursday, after she lost the sum of N275,000 at Abaji Main Market in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.
DailyTrust reports that an eyewitness simply identified as Gambo, said the woman received the shock of her life after she reached into her handbag to remove money to pay for the melons she had picked and realised that the money was no longer there.
He said that the woman who comes from Auchi in Edo State every five market days to buy large quantities of melon and groundnut collapsed afterwards.
Gambo further said that the incident caused apprehension in the market and that some traders poured water on her to revive her.
