A 24-year-old man, Ebuka Ibe, has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, on Tuesday, by a Magistrate court in Ikeja, over the alleged r*pe of his neighbour.
Ibe, who resides at 16, Eyitayo St., Ajao Estate, Lagos, was charged with r*pe.
The Magistrate, F. D Hughes, did not take Ibe’s plea for want in jurisdiction.
She adjourned the case until April 17 for legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.
The prosecutor, Inspector Samuel Mishozunnu, told the court that the offence was committed on February 18 at the defendant’s residence.
Mishozunnu said Ibe r*ped his neighbour, a 20-year-old woman while she was asleep.
He alleged that Ibe crawled into the victim’s bed at night and r*ped her while the victim’s neighbours called for help.
The offences, the prosecutor said, contravened the provisions of Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
