President Tinubu’s Special adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has dismissed reports circulating online that the United Arab Emirates UAE has lifted its ban on Nigerian travellers.
Onanuga in a post shared on his X handle on Tuesday evening says a document in circulation is not authorized either by the Nigerian government or the UAE.
On Tuesday, March 6, a document went viral claiming that the UAE had lifted the ban on Nigerian travellers. According to the document, Nigerians planning to visit the UAE will have to develop a Document Verification Number and afterwards visit the UAE embassy in Lagos or Abuja for an interview.
Onanuga in his post said the document was never authorized by the UAE or Nigerian government.
